Well good news to all who cared. I am alive, well, and happy to read this photo continued to bring joy to some. I have retired from the Air Force after 20 years. I’m also happy to read some understood the meaning of the photo.


For those who hate or claimed I never served because of what the believe to be an outdated uniform, the photo was taken and posted in 2006. This was the issued uniform at the time. ABU’s were not the service uniform at the time. That didn’t happen until 2007.


The photo was in Iraq, not Afghanistan.


Anyways, I don’t visit here much anymore, I just randomly came across the thread while searching for something on google.
